Cornell trustees to meet in New York City, Jan. 19-21

The Cornell University Board of Trustees will hold its first meetings of 2006 at the Cornell Club of New York and at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City, Jan. 19-21.

The full board will meet in closed session from 9 to 11:50 a.m. and from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 21. Friday's meeting will be at the Cornell Club of New York, and Saturday's meeting will be at the Weill Cornell Medical College.

The following committees of the board, with open sessions, will meet Thursday, Jan. 19, and Friday, Jan. 20.

  • The Buildings and Properties Committee will meet briefly in open session to hear project and budget status reports and approve concepts for renovation to the Ives Hall faculty building and rehabilitation of the 1933 Martha Van Rensselaer Hall building at the beginning of its 9 a.m. meeting, Thursday, in the Fall Creek Room of the Cornell Club, 6 E. 44th St.
  • The Committee on Governmental Relations will meet in open session from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday in the Fall Creek Room of the Cornell Club to discuss a SUNY/CUNY economic development project and the state executive budget.
  • The Audit Committee will have an open session at the beginning of its meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday in the Fall Creek Room of the Cornell Club, during which reports will be discussed, including the committee's annual report.
  • The Committee on Academic Affairs will have a brief open session at its meeting at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Room A-126 at Weill Cornell Medical College, 1300 York Ave., for the approval of minutes from the October meeting.
