On-campus farmers' market features organic vegetables, flowers
The Cornell campus is getting even greener, thanks to the new semiweekly sale of organic flowers and vegetables grown on the student-run Dilmun Hill organic farm. Last week's kick-off saw brisk sales, but Janet Buonanno '07, student-farm co-manager, promises there is a lot more to harvest and sell in the weeks to come.
Dilmun Hill is a12-acre, student-run farm and experiential learning center adjacent to campus, just west of Cornell Orchards near the intersection of Judd Falls Rd. and Route 366. It grows vegetables, fruit, flowers and herbs using organic practices.
The on-campus farmers' market will start around 2:30 p.m. at Ho Plaza on Wednesday and at Mann Library on Fridays.
