The Cops, Kids and Toys program distributed toys to more than 1,000 children and about 425 families Dec. 18 and 19, said Cornell Police Officer George Sutfin, who is president of the program. Collection boxes for donations were put out Nov. 1 across Tompkins County and on Cornell's campus.

The program is a group effort by Tompkins County law enforcement agencies and volunteers. For more information about the program or to donate toys (which are accepted year round), contact Sutfin at (607) 255-7305 or e-mail gls5@cornell.edu.
