Marisue Taube is new director of University Councils

Marisue Taube, a 1975 graduate of Cornell's College of Human Ecology, is the new director of the Office of Councils. Taube succeeds Marty Moses, who served as interim director following Joanne Davenport's retirement in April 2006.

In her new role, Taube will help coordinate and oversee the Cornell University Council, the President's Council of Cornell Women and the Presidential Councillors. The Office of the Councils functions within the Office of Alumni Affairs and Development (AAD).

Shortly after graduating, Taube joined Cornell as an administrative supervisor in the Office of the Assemblies. In 1985, she joined the AAD team, working with alumni clubs until 1990. She also has served as director of public affairs for Academic Programs and Campus Affairs (now Student and Academic Services), director of development for the College of Arts and Sciences, individual giving officer in Special Gifts, and as director of external relations for Cornell University Library.

"The breadth and depth of Marisue's Cornell experiences will be tremendous assets to her in this new role, as will her experiences as an active and engaged community volunteer," said AAD Associate Vice President Laura Toy. "I hope the Cornell community will join me in welcoming her to this new position, and in thanking Marty for the outstanding job she has done as interim director."
