Kate Duch, ILR '09, has been elected student trustee, the Trustee Nominating Committee of the Cornell Board of Trustees announced April 30.

Duch will serve as a full voting member of the board from July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2009. Thirteen candidates ran, and 3,944 students voted in the election.

A member of the Student and University assemblies, Duch ran on a platform that included fighting tuition increases and implementing strategies for a more sustainable campus. She also voiced opposition to changes in the Campus Code of Conduct that would "infringe on students' rights."
