Christine Stallmann of Alcoa named director of environmental health and safety

Cornell has named Christine M. Stallmann as director of the Department of Environmental Health and Safety, according to Richard W. McDaniel, vice president for business services and environmental safety. Stallmann, who currently serves as manager of global environmental health and safety and facilities services for Alcoa Inc., will begin her new post at Cornell in mid-August.

Stallmann succeeds Ted Murray, associate director of Environmental Health and Safety, who served as interim director during the search.

Stallmann holds a bachelor's degree in safety science from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in hazardous waste and management from Southern Methodist University.
