Historic hockey rivals Cornell and Boston to face-off at Madison Square Garden, Nov. 24

Throw back the clock and throw down the puck as two historically fierce rivals -- the Cornell and Boston University hockey teams -- face off at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Saturday, Nov. 24, at 8 p.m.

The game will be broadcast nationally on the CSTV sports network at 8 p.m. EST. The game is available via satellite on DirecTV Channel 610 and Dish Network Channel 152, as well as on the local Time Warner New York Channel 242 as part of the Sports Tier package. Fans without those options can purchase a single game, online pay-per-view for $7.95 by visiting http://www.cstvppv.com/hockey/. Tickets for the game are sold out.

The rivalry began in 1925 on Cornell's Beebe Lake in Ithaca, when Boston beat Cornell, 7-2. Since then, the two teams have played 40 games at five different venues, meeting just eight times since 1984, and the Big Red leads the series 23-16-1.

For Cornell in the 1960s and 1970s, the rivalry was fierce: The Big Red won its first national title against the Terriers in 1967, and Boston University won the national crown against Cornell in 1972. To this day, Cornell fans mention Boston in their chants at all hockey games.
