Librarian honored by Johnson School

Angela Horne, director of the Management Library, received the Outstanding Contributor Award from the Johnson Graduate School of Management.

Staff from the library and the Johnson School nominated Horne for the award, given annually to a staff member who has made a positive impact on the school. Horne joined the Management Library 10 years ago and has greatly expanded the library's capabilities, developed new career resources to help job-seekers and led multiple public-service efforts to serve the Johnson School's students. She has also focused on her staff, encouraging team development and translating the school's values from abstract concepts to concrete definitions.

Horne graduated from the Cornell-Queens Executive MBA program, which allowed her to experience the Johnson School's services from an end-user perspective and acquire a new set of skills as a manager.

"Angela's academic experience combined with her professional background resulted in an unparalleled record of public service to the Johnson School community. Her acute understanding of the students' information needs ensures a practitioner-relevant focus of our resources and services," Horne's colleagues wrote in application for the award.
