Dump and Run: Recycle your giveaways to benefit charities

Household goods, clothing, toiletries and most anything else in decent shape that can be reused will be collected until May 31 to benefit local charities. Donations will be sorted over the summer, then sold at the Dump and Run sale Aug. 21-22 in Helen Newman Gym.

Dump and Run collection bins can be found in all residence halls, houses and community centers, in addition to some academic buildings on campus. Donate nonperishable food, clothing, furniture, textbooks, toiletries, working appliances and electronics, sporting items, coat hangers and decorations. The program will not accept mattresses, pillows, underwear, socks, trash or anything broken.

Dump and Run volunteers are available to pick up donations off campus by contacting Mike Mott at mm52@cornell.edu.

Dump and Run is organized and run by Cornell students with substantial support from Cornell's Department of Campus Life.

Over the last seven years, the program has raised and donated more than $145,000. Proceeds of this year's Dump and Run sale will benefit Cops, Kids and Toys; Tompkins Learning Partners; Loaves and Fishes; Shelter Outreach Services; and Cornell's United Way Student Campaign.
