Levine honored for best doctoral thesis

Adam Seth Levine '03, assistant professor government, will receive the 2011 E.E. Schattschneider Award.

The award is given annually by the American Political Science Association for the best doctoral dissertation completed and accepted during that year or the previous year in the field of American government.

His thesis, "Strategic Solicitation: Explaining When Requests for Political Donations Are Persuasive," was written for his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. Levine joined the Cornell faculty this summer. His areas of focus are political behavior, public policy and empirical methodology.

The award will be presented Sept. 1 in Seattle.
