Jazz artist Lisa Hilton to perform on campus Nov. 2

Jazz composer and pianist Lisa Hilton will perform solo piano selections from her 14th CD "American Impressions," Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. in Barnes Hall Auditorium. Admission is free. A reception will follow the performance.

The concert is sponsored by the School of Hotel Administration, the Department of Music and WICB-FM.

Hilton's style has been compared to Dave Brubeck and Bill Evans, with compositions drawing on traditional jazz and the avant-garde as well as such jazz greats as Thelonious Monk and Duke Ellington.

She has played with several contemporary jazz luminaries, notably Christian McBride, Steve Wilson, Jeremy Pelt, Lewis Nash and Bobby Militello of the Dave Brubeck Quartet.
