Garrett sends condolences to victims of Paris attacks

President Elizabeth Garrett issued the following statement on Nov. 14:

On behalf of the entire Cornell community, I extend our sympathies and condolences to all those affected by the tragic series of attacks that occurred Friday night in Paris. As a global university with many personal and professional connections to France through our alumni, staff, students and faculty, Cornell joins in condemning these acts of terror and stands united with the residents of Paris.

We have reached each of our students, faculty and staff members who we are aware are currently studying and working in Paris, and they are safe. However, many of us have broad networks of family, friends and colleagues in the region who remain in our thoughts.
