Town-gown collaborations to be celebrated Nov. 19

Now in its sixth year, the annual Cornell Town-Gown Awards (TOGOs) will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, 9-11 a.m., at Ithaca High School’s Kulp Auditorium.

The event includes a holiday food drive led by Cornell students and an informal gathering with donuts, cider and music from Ithaca High students from 9 to 9:25 a.m. The formal recognition program begins at 9:30 a.m. Attendees are asked to bring canned food or other nonperishable items for the food drive.

The TOGOs will include remarks from Cornell Interim President Hunter Rawlings, a spotlight on five town-gown partnerships, and a tip of the hat to local leaders who have left or are leaving high-profile jobs.

This informal event celebrating community-campus collaborations is free and open to the public. It typically has drawn more than 200 local and university community members each year
