About 600 staff, faculty, students, retirees and their spouses or partners participated in the 2017 Cornell National Run/Walk to School/Work event, Sept. 15, representing more than a 50 percent increase in participation over last year.

“We’ve read your comments and seen your Facebook posts, so we know how much your participation meant to each of you,” said Kerry Howell, assistant director for the Cornell University Wellness Program. “Thanks to all who participated, from Cornell Recreation Services, Cornell Wellness and Transportation Services. We hope you participate again next year.”

A gift basket was given to the largest group to participate: the Lab of Ornithology, with 36 participants.

The Run/Walk event was sponsored by Cornell Recreational Services, Cornell Wellness Program and Cornell Transportation. Prize donors were: Finger Lakes Running & Triathlon Company; Cornell Dairy; The Cornell Store; Campus-to-Campus. The event was founded nationally by the Road Runners Club of America.
