Town-Gown Awards

Celebrate community-campus partnerships at the annual Town-Gown Awards, recognizing three winners and thanking local leaders who are retiring. Interim President Michael I. Kotlikoff will offer opening remarks. Coffee, doughnuts and popcorn will be served.

Career advice for film

“Professional Directions: A Conversation with Writer and Producer Duran Jones” will offer the inside scoop on writing and producing short and feature films. The discussion is part of the Department of Performing and Media Arts’ Professional Directions series, which features industry experts speaking about their career journeys as screenwriters, playwrights, editors, producers, directors, theater critics and dramaturgs.

Supreme Court discussion

Ann Marimow ’97, the Zubrow Distinguished Visiting Journalist in the College of Arts & Sciences and The Washington Post’s Supreme Court correspondent, will moderate the panel “A Polarized Supreme Court: What It Means for Democracy.” The panel of experts will explore declining public confidence in the court, its ethics controversies and how the court will respond to likely challenges to the new administration’s policies.
