Transportation Services transitions to new software
By Nancy Doolittle
Cornell's Transportation Services is implementing new software to provide a long-term solution for managing on-campus parking operations, paving the way for customers to use enhanced services, including the ability to perform most of their transactions online using their Cornell NetID and password.
For about a week after Memorial Day, the Transportation Services office at 116 Maple Ave. will limit permit, payment and transit pass services in order to implement the new system.
The office will be open as usual May 31-June 3 but will be unable to process ticket payments or annual permits. Customers will be offered temporary permits or bus passes to accommodate their commuting needs until the software implementation is complete. Annual permit requests and ticket payments received during that time period will be processed after June 7. Any late fees that accrue on ticket payments submitted for payment during the downtime will be waived.
On June 6 and 7, the office will be open 7:30-8:30 a.m. only, to accommodate temporary permit requests. The visitor information and parking booths will remain open during normal business hours of 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m., and the Transportation Services dispatcher can be reached at 255-0000 for parking complaints, and emergency ride and motorist assist calls.
The office is scheduled to reopen June 8 at 7:30 a.m. with the new system in place.
