The Cornell community is invited to a celebration of the life of Richard N. (Dick) White, May 1 at 3 p.m. in 166 Hollister Hall. White, who died in October at the age of 75, was the James A. Friend Family Distinguished Professor of Engineering Emeritus.

White joined the Cornell faculty in 1961 and served as director of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering from 1978 to 1984, and associate dean for undergraduate programs from 1987 to 1990. He became an emeritus professor in 1998.
