Staff Education Exploration Day slated for July 21

The 12th annual Staff Education Exploration Day (SEED), July 21, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in G10 Biotechnology Building, will feature workshops to help Cornell employees advance their careers and opportunities to meet representatives of local organizations that provide networking, leadership and volunteer opportunities.
Intended to showcase staff education and development opportunities on campus and in the area, most on a drop-in basis, SEED will offer several new workshops this year:
- A panel discussion on self-development through volunteerism: 12:45-1:15 p.m.
- Skill Interest Assessment: Sessions are 10-10:30 a.m. and 10:45-11:15 a.m.
- Cornell Careers panel: 11:30 a.m.-12:10 p.m.
- Résumé reviewers: Bring your résumé; 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Area exhibitors include the American Red Cross, Tompkins County Board of Elections, Finger Lakes Independence Center, JET Inc., Kaplan Educational Center, Leadership Tompkins, LifeLong, Society for Human Resource Management and Toastmasters. Area colleges and universities include: Broome Community College, Empire State College, Syracuse University, Tompkins Cortland Community College and Wells College. On-campus representatives also will be on hand from such areas as Cornell's leadership, educational, office professionals, organizational development and retirement education programs as well as eCornell, Environmental Health and Safety, Cornell Graduate School, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Johnson Museum, Lab of Ornithology, School of Continuing Education and Wellness Program.
A book exchange, door prizes and lunch specials from Cornell Dining round out the event, which is sponsored by the Division of Human Resources and the School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions. Information: http://www.hr.cornell.edu/life/career/seed.html.
