Schaffer selected for engineering education symposium
Chris Schaffer, assistant professor of biomedical engineering, has been invited to the National Academy of Engineering's second annual Frontiers of Engineering Education symposium, Dec. 13-16 in Irvine, Calif.
Schaffer, who researches physiological processes in normal and diseased states and the pathophysiology of small-scale strokes, is one of 53 invited participants considered the nation's most innovative young engineering educators.
This year's program will focus on ways to ensure that students learn the engineering fundamentals, the expanding knowledge base of new technology and the skills necessary to be effective engineers or researchers.
