CALS alumni honored for accomplishments and service

The chief financial officer of NBC Universal, the 30-year-old founder of a popular creative networking company and the president of a prestigious winery were among six College of Agriculture and Life Sciences alumni honored with Outstanding Alumni Awards in a ceremony Nov. 5 at the Statler Hotel.
Lynn A. Calpeter '86 was credited for her leadership at NBC and parent company General Electric, and her willingness to help guide Cornell students and serve as a role model for young women.
Scott Belsky '02, the founder of the Behance Network and author of the bestselling book "Making Ideas Happen," was recognized for his achievements as a young alumnus and his service on the Entrepreneurship@Cornell advisory council.
Also honored: Dr. Konstantin Frank's Vinifera Wine Cellars President Frederick Frank '79; King Ferry farmer and Cayuga Lake National Bank Director Edwin Fessenden '54; renowned horticulturist Jules Janick '51; and American Realty Tax Services founder Joseph Manelski '56, a key supporter of the Cornell Solar Decathlon team.
Animal Science Professor David Galton and Department of Landscape Architecture chair Peter Trowbridge were also recognized with Outstanding Faculty/Staff awards.
