The Chinese Youth Goodwill Mission, a 21-member ensemble from the Republic of Taiwan, will present a performance extravaganza Friday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m. in Cornell University's Statler Auditorium.

The show, which is open to the public, will highlight traditional and modern Chinese art forms, everything from jazz to juggling with urns and from kung-fu sword play to ritual dances with fans and flags.

This is the 25th year the Youth Goodwill Mission has been touring the globe. Altogether the organization has visited 98 countries and given almost 1,500 shows. The performers are all university students, many of whom are majoring in the performance arts, and all are rigorously trained.

Several officials from the Taiwan government will be on hand for the performance, among them: Rep. Stephen S.F. Chen of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Washington ,D.C., and Tony W.T. Lin, director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York City.

The audience is invited to a reception in the Statler lobby following the performance.
