Cornell University President Hunter Rawlings and Director of Athletics J. Andrew Noel Jr. have announced the cancellation of all of the university's intercollegiate athletic events for this weekend in consideration of the recent national tragedy.

Athletic events in which Cornell's participation has been canceled include:

Friday, Sept. 14:

• Golf at the Bucknell University Invitational
• Women's tennis fall invitational (home)
• Men's soccer at Boston University
• Volleyball at the Georgetown University Invitational

Saturday, Sept. 15:

• Football vs. Bucknell University (home)
• Women's tennis fall invitational (home)
• Men's and women's cross country at Boston University
• Golf at the Bucknell University Invitational
• Women's soccer at the Hawaii Invitational
• Volleyball at the Georgetown University Invitational

Sunday, Sept. 16:

• Field hockey vs. Kent State University (home)
• Women's tennis fall invitational (home)
• Men's soccer at Fairfield University
• Women's soccer at the Hawaii Invitational
