ITHACA, N.Y. -- A limited number of general admission tickets are still available for actor and comedian Bill Cosby's performance at Cornell University, Friday, Oct. 31, at 8 p.m. in the university's Barton Hall. Cosby is appearing at Cornell as part of the university's annual First-Year Family Weekend.
Tickets for Cosby's Barton Hall show will remain on sale at Cornell's Willard Straight Hall ticket office (255-3430) until they are sold out. The ticket office is open weekdays, 9 a.m. -5 p.m. General admission tickets are $30 each.
As one of the most influential performers of all time, Cosby has been entertaining audiences for decades while also breaking down racial barriers. His longtime, popular television sitcom, The Cosby Show , has been described as one of the most influential programs in television history and, according to Coretta Scott King, gave "the most positive portrayal of black family life that has ever been broadcast."
Cosby's position as one of the greatest pop culture icons has further been solidified by his numerous television and film roles, including: I Spy , The Bill Cosby Show , The Electric Company , The New Fat Albert Show , The Cosby Mysteries , Cosby and Kids Say the Darndest Things . One of Cosby's books, Fatherhood (1986), was No. 1 on The New York Times bestseller list for 54 weeks. He also has had 21 albums on the national pop charts.
The event is sponsored by the Cornell University Program Board.
