Benefit Services relocates for first time in 30 years

Resources available through Benefit Services
Benefit Services provides information on the following faculty and staff resources:
• Health plans
• Medical leaves
• Life insurance
• Retirement plans
• Cornell childcare grant
• Benefits billing
• Educational benefits
• Flexible spending accounts
• Voluntary plans
• Financial educational resources
Benefit Services will be closed beginning March 7 to move from Day Hall to the East Hill Office Building (EHOB) and will reopen March 10 in its new location on the first floor.
The move is designed to bring central Human Resources offices closer together. Shortly after the Benefit Services move, the HR offices of Organizational Effectiveness and Compensation will move from Thornwood Drive to East Hill Plaza, bringing it in close proximity to the Recruitment and Employment Center. Later this year, Career/Life Services will move from Day Hall to EHOB, completing a shift of most centralized HR business functions to the EHOB-East Hill Plaza area.
According to Paul Bursic, senior director of Benefit Services, because so many employees conduct most of their human resource business online, the amount of foot traffic to the 130 Day Hall office has steadily decreased over the past several years, making it less critical that the office be located on the central campus.
The EHOB and East Hill Plaza offices also offer readily available parking for HR clients, he said, and they are located on the TCAT 82 bus line.
The Department of Workforce Diversity and Inclusion will move into the 130 Day Hall space vacated by Benefit Services.
