Ithaca Garden Club to hold holiday gala Dec. 6
The Ithaca Garden Club invites anyone interested to an “Innkeeper’s Holiday Gala,” Dec. 6, beginning at 3 p.m. at the John Joseph Inn, 813 Auburn Road, Groton NY. The inn is 7.5 miles north of the Shops at Ithaca Mall on Route 34.
Explore the seasonally decorated main building and rustic barn, all done with fresh greens and flowers. Forty decorated wreaths will be for sale and there will be a raffle of special items. The Ithaca Garden Club boutique will offer gifts.
Come early, 3-5 p.m., for tea and sweets, or stay later, 5-7 p.m., for savories and cash bar.
This fund-raiser aims to increase the plantings at the Cayuga Inlet Crabapple Grove, an area of beauty enjoyed by the Ithaca community. Tickets are $50, with $30 being a tax deduction. Send your name and check to Donna Clark, 17 Wedgewood Drive, Ithaca, by Nov. 29. There is also a Pay Pal option on the Ithaca Garden Club website.
The Ithaca Garden Club presently has 120 members. It is one of the oldest and largest garden clubs in New York State. For further information or questions about the Ithaca Garden Club, contact Nancy Ridenour at 607-257-2654 or see the website.
