The 34th Annual Map Sale will be held Nov. 28-29, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both days, in the basement of Sibley Hall, next to the Green Dragon Café. Antique reproduction world and regional maps, city plans, sea charts, landscapes and birds-eye views will be sold to benefit the student scholarship program sponsored by alumni of the graduate program in Historic Preservation Planning.

The first sale took place in 1984 and has grown to include matted and framed maps and used books on architecture, design, planning and art topics donated by faculty members. During the event, the student group Preservation Studies Student Organization (PSSO) sells preservation-themed tee-shirts and baked treats to support Work Weekend, a three-day hands-on restoration project held off campus during the spring semester.  Map prices range from $7.50-$20 and everything is priced to move quickly.

The sale is sponsored by Historic Preservation Planning Alumni, which works with a local map publisher, Historic Urban Plans, Inc., to organize the event. These reproductions are of interest to architects, planners, historians, archeologists, genealogists and anyone who enjoys all aspects of history. Hundreds of U.S. and foreign cities will be represented at the sale.
