The ILR School will hold a public event March 19 that examines one of today’s most pressing issues: sexual harassment in the workplace. U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and Cornell President Martha E. Pollack will open the discussion, held 2:30 to 4 p.m. in Statler Auditorium. No tickets are required, and the event will be livestreamed on CornellCast.

“Sexual harassment in the workplace is a critical issue, and this event is an important opportunity for the ILR School to move the conversation forward with panelists representing voices from policy, law, practice and academia. The work naturally fits within the ILR School's mission,” said Kevin F. Hallock, the Kenneth F. Kahn ’69 Dean and the Joseph R. Rich ’80 Professor of Economics and Human Resource Studies, who will moderate the panel.

The event will feature expert insight from scholars, a national policymaker, a chief human resources officer and a workplace law practitioner. They will focus on issues facing employers and employees, and will explore best practices to positively impact workplace culture. A question-and-answer period will follow.

Participating on the panel are:

• Mark Brossman, partner, Schulte Roth & Zabel, New York City;
• Alexander Colvin, associate dean for academic affairs, diversity and faculty devlopment and the Martin F. Scheinman Professor of Conflict Resolution, ILR School;
• Lisa Nishii, Cornell vice provost for undergraduate education and associate professor, human resource studies, Cornell ILR School; and
• Christine Pambianchi, senior vice president, human resources, Corning Inc.
