Cornell Board of Trustees to meet May 24-25

The Cornell University Board of Trustees will meet in Ithaca on May 24 and 25. The full board will convene at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, in the Hans Bethe Seminar Room, 700 Clark Hall.
During the open session, which will adjourn at 11:45 a.m., the board will hear reports from the president and the dean of the university faculty. The associate vice president for human relations will present the annual report on "Progress Toward Diversity". The 1996-97 financial plan and statutory college budget and the administration's proposed goal for residential communities will be presented.
The Executive Committee will meet in the Taylor Room of the Statler Hotel on Friday, May 24. The dinner meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m.
During the open session of the meeting, the committee will review the 1996-97 financial plan for the statutory colleges.
Three other committees also will have open sessions on Friday:
" The Buildings and Properties Committee will meet in open session beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Yale-Princeton Room of the Statler Hotel.
" The Committee on Land Grant and Statutory College Affairs will hold an open meeting at 2 p.m. in the Yale-Princeton Room. The committee will hear updates on the state budget, state and federal relations and statutory tuitions.
" The Committee on Academic Affairs and Campus Life will meet briefly in open session at noon in the Taylor Salon of the Statler Hotel, for presentation of the biennial report on freshman graduation rates.
A limited number of tickets for the open sessions of the Executive Committee and full board will be available starting at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the Information and Referral desk in the lobby of Day Hall. No tickets are needed for the open sessions of the other committees.
