Memorial service for physicist Robert R. Wilson is March 11 in Cornell's Sage Chapel

A memorial service for Robert Rathbun Wilson, professor of physics emeritus at Cornell University, is set for Saturday, March 11, at 2 p.m. in Sage Chapel, Cornell University. An informal reception in the Memorial Room of Willard Straight Hall will follow the service.
Wilson, the experimental physicist who designed some of the world's most powerful particle accelerators used to study the fundamental nature of matter, died Jan 16 at home in Ithaca. The former director of the Cornell Laboratory of Nuclear Studies and of the Enrico Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) was 85.
The memorial service is organized by the Wilson family, the Laboratory of Nuclear Studies and the Department of Physics at Cornell.
