Campus projects will affect vehicular and pedestrian traffic

Cornell University's Facilities Management reports that a number of projects during the coming months will affect vehicular and pedestrian traffic on campus.

  • Beginning June 12, the Dwyer Dam Bridge on Hoy Road, near the Route 366 intersection, will be closed to all vehicular traffic for scheduled repairs. The bridge will reopen to one-lane, "local-traffic only" July 3, with both lanes reopening Aug. 4. Pedestrian traffic on the bridge will be allowed throughout the project.
  • From June 12 to Aug. 15, relocation of steam, chilled water and potable water lines in the area will affect the north end of Hoy Road, requiring one-lane traffic, and Campus Road will be closed between Hoy Road and East Avenue. From June 12 to Oct. 10, the project will affect pedestrian traffic on the Engineering Quad.
  • From June 12 to Aug. 15, installation of a new steam line from the north side of the Thurston Avenue Bridge to Balch Hall will create one-lane traffic at times on Balch Drive (leading to Helen Newman Hall) and at the entrance to the Alumni House parking lot. Thurston Avenue will remain open at all times.
