Cornell officials respond to landlord arrest

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell University officials and staff are offering support services to students who have been affected by alleged incidents of unlawful surveillance by a landlord for rental housing in Ithaca.

Susan Murphy, vice president for student and academic services, has convened a crisis management task force to handle issues of emergency housing, finances and legal issues, as well as to provide psychological support.

At this time, the full extent of all the ramifications of this alleged criminal activity is not known. The case is still being investigated by law enforcement agencies, and Cornell University will continue to provide every support in the pursuit of its appropriate resolution.

Students who have been directly affected are being offered emergency housing and other support so that they may begin their academic activities with the least amount of disruption possible. Students are encouraged to call the following offices for emergencies, advice and support:
