Radio host Laura Flanders to talk on 'Gender Politics in the Age of Bush'

Laura Flanders, author and radio host on Air America, will present a lecture, "Gender Politics in the Age of Bush," on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. in Auditorium D, Goldwin Smith Hall on the Cornell University campus. The event is free and open to the public.
The event is sponsored by Students Acting for Gender Equality (SAGE) and by Mock Election 2004.
Flanders is the host of "The Laura Flanders Show," heard weekends on the new Air America radio network. On weekdays she hosts "Your Call" on KALW-FM in San Francisco and on the Internet.
She is the author of Bushwomen: Tales of a Cynical Species , about female members of President George W. Bush's cabinet, and The W Effect: Sexual Politics in the Age of Bush , an essay collection. Flanders also is the author of Real Majority, Media Minority: the Cost of Sidelining Women in Reporting.
Flanders writes regularly for Tompaine.com , the Nation , Ms. Magazine and Znet . Her opinion articles have appeared in The San Francisco Chronicle. She has been a panelist on "Fox News Watch" and the PBS show "To the Contrary."
Following the lecture, Flanders will sign copies of Bushwomen: Tales of a Cynical Species in the auditorium lobby.
