ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell Commencement Committee has issued a list of special road and parking lot closings to accommodate numerous activities scheduled for Commencement Weekend. Please note that East Avenue and the portion of Tower Road between East Avenue and Judd Falls Road will be closed Sunday, May 29, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. 

Most roads and parking lots on the Cornell University campus are open and will remain open throughout the day Saturday and into the late evening. Road and lots that are closed are marked and barricaded. Please do not cross the barricades. Please observe regulations governing handicap parking spaces.

Sunday, May 29:

Most roads on central campus will close at 8 a.m. and remain closed until 3 p.m. Parents and other guest of the university should park in A lot by Pleasant Grove Road or B Lot by Route 366 and ride the shuttle buses to the stadium.

After the commencement ceremony, special bus routes are planned to take guests who choose not to walk to college and department receptions.

Arrangements for guests who have been issued special blue or yellow mobility impaired parking permits have not changed.

Buses will run until 5 p.m. on Sunday to take guests back to parking in A and B Lots.
 

Friday, May 27 
Parking lots that will close on Friday with any remaining cars towed:

• Sage Hall parking lot (closed 4 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Sunday);
• Lynah parking lot near Bartels Hall (closed all weekend, 7 a.m. Friday until 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 31)

Saturday, May 28
Parking lots that will close at 1 a.m. Saturday morning, with any remaining cars towed. Lots will reopen at approximately 3 p.m. Sunday unless otherwise noted:

• Crescent lot;
• Barton Hall east end parking spaces (closed all weekend).

Sunday, May 29
Parking lots that will close at 3 a.m. Sunday morning, with any remaining cars towed. Lots will reopen at approximately 3 p.m. Sunday unless otherwise noted:

• Parking garage, except for mobility-impaired permit holders.

Road closings 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

• Eastbound lane of Campus Road from West Avenue to Central Avenue;
• Campus Road between Central Avenue and Tower Road;
• Southbound lane of West Avenue;
• East Avenue;
• Hoy Road;
• Garden Avenue between Campus Road and Tower Road;
• Wing Drive between Campus Road and Tower Road;
• Judd Falls Road between Tower Road and Route 366;
• Tower Road between East Avenue and Judd Falls Road.
