Publications Office wins design awards
Two projects by the Cornell Office of Publications and Marketing have won top prizes in the 2005 University and College Design Association (UCDA) competition. The professional organization promotes excellence in the visual arts at institutions of higher education.
Honored with an Award of Excellence in the UCDA Special Events category was "Cornell and the Fungi of China Collection," an exhibit brochure, poster and display materials designed by Lorraine Heasley, written by Roger Segelken and edited by Judy Stewart. The exhibit of photographs by Kent Loeffler, a photographer in the Department of Plant Pathology, and curated by Kathie Hodge, assistant professor of mycology, continues through September at Mann Library.
The 2005 UCDA Award of Excellence in the Internal Publications category went to "Cornell is a canvas to our imagination," an Office of Publications and Marketing promotional piece designed by Wendy Kenigsberg, written by Claudia Wheatley and edited by Liz Bauman. The combination user's guide and fold-out poster displays projects completed for more than two dozen university clients, including several that earned national awards for the Office of Publications and Marketing. Additional copies of the user's guide are available by calling 255-4945.
