Second annual '21 Dinner' to honor Boiardi '04 and to support Teach for America

The Second Annual 21 Dinner will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, at 6 p.m. in Bridgewaters in New York City to celebrate the life and legacy of Mario St. George Boiardi '04.

Before his tragic death during a lacrosse game on March 17, 2004, Boiardi wore No. 21 as a Cornell lacrosse team captain and was president of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity on campus. Boiardi had committed to join Teach for America upon graduation.

The event will honor Boiardi by supporting Teach for America of South Dakota, the region where Boiardi hoped to serve.

The first 21 Dinner, held a year ago, raised nearly $50,000 for Teach for America.

This year's event will be emceed by Jeremy Schaap, son of the late ESPN reporter Dick Schaap '55 (who also wore No. 21 on Cornell's lacrosse team). Keynote remarks will be given by Bob Ryan of the Boston Globe and ESPN.

Sponsorship levels begin at $150 per seat. For more information or to register, visit http://www.21dinner.org/ or e-mail info@21dinner.org. Tickets will be available up until the time of the event.
