Lockheed Martin gives $63,000 to College of Engineering

Continuing longtime support for undergraduate research, workshops and project teams, Lockheed Martin Corp. representatives visited campus Sept. 19 to present a $63,000 check to College of Engineering Dean Kent Fuchs.

The gift was presented by Pat Dewar, vice president of business development for Lockheed Martin, and Dan Christie, campus relations manager for Lockheed Martin and Cornell.

Of the total, $22,500 is allocated for undergraduate research projects; $7,500 for undergraduate academic excellence workshops; $5,000 for each of three student design teams: FSAE Racing, Automotive X-Prize and CUSat; $10,000 for peer mentor programming; and $8,000 for a number of student organizations.

Lockheed Martin is one of the engineering college's top recruiters.
