Joint sustainable development workshop with Beijing's Tsinghua University is April 29-30

A joint workshop with China's Tsinghua University on sustainable development will take place at Cornell, April 29-30.

A group of delegates from Tsinghua will travel to Ithaca to attend the workshop, titled "Sustainable Development: Water Resources, Energy and the Environment," and to present their research findings alongside Cornell colleagues.

It will be Cornell's third such joint workshop with the Chinese university since 2004, when the institutions first formed a partnership to strengthen research and education in engineering and physical sciences.

The agreement is meant to facilitate collaborative research opportunities and exchanges of visiting faculty. One highlight of the partnership is to offer a series of joint Cornell/Tsinghua faculty workshops. The last two workshops, in 2005 and 2006, were both held in Beijing.

Faculty, staff, students and the public are invited to attend. For more information, contact Clare Zuraw at 607-254-8732.
