Donations of canned goods and nonperishable foods will be collected for local food pantries March 11, during Bring a Can to Work Day. United Way of Tompkins County is sponsoring the fundraiser, with collection boxes around campus available from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Boxes will be stationed at 401 Willard Straight Hall, the first floor of the Robert Purcell Community Center, the lobby of East Hill Office Building, Jansen's Market in Noyes Community Recreation Center, the lobby of the Vet College, and the atrium of Humphreys Service Building. Those wanting to donate also can call 255-1202.

At noon, organizers of the fall 2008 Cornell United Way Campaign are holding a celebration in Willard Straight Hall's International Lounge. The public is invited; light refreshment will be served.
