Geddes to spend six months in Australia on Fulbright scholarship

Rick Geddes, associate professor of policy analysis and management, will receive a 2009 Fulbright U.S. Senior Scholarship to undertake research in Canberra, Australia, during the 2009-10 academic year.

The scholarship, which is administered by the Australian-American Fulbright Commission in Canberra, will provide Geddes with research support for six months beginning in July. While in Australia, Geddes plans to examine the lessons that can be applied to the United States from Australia's use of private investment in financing transportation infrastructure, such as roads, bridges and tunnels.

Geddes, whose research focuses on infrastructure investment, postal services and women's property rights, joined the Cornell faculty in 2002.
