The National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association (NAADA) has recognized Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) with a first-place and two second-place awards in its annual competition.
CALS won first place in the "Alumni Events/Program" category for the CALS Outstanding Alumni Awards Banquet. This award was for the overall program of the event based on the invitation package, banquet program, CD of the slide show for each award winner recognized that evening, and the award winner tributes that were framed and mailed to each recipient.
CALS won second place in the "Development/Print Media/Strategic Plan" category for its Core Priorities brochure, a publication intended to build awareness of and support for CALS faculty, students and facilities. Dean Susan Henry shares the brochure with key alumni, corporate visitors, foundations, legislators, funding agencies, decision-makers, certain stakeholders and prospective faculty.
The other second-place award was recognition of the CALS News magazine in the "Alumni/Print Media/College/Organization/Newsletter 4-Color Category." The magazine goes to about 50,000 alumni and friends of CALS as well as faculty members, university trustees, College Advisory Council members, parents of current students, graduate students and legislative and government officials.
The NAADA is the association for all colleges of agriculture across the country.
