Memorial service for Margaret Arion slated for June 23
A memorial service for the late Cornell administrator Margaret Mary Reynolds Arion will be held June 23 at 4 p.m. at the Biotech Building Terrace, between Weill Hall and the Biotech Building.
The service, to be led by the Rev. Janet Shortall, associate director of Cornell United Religious Work, will celebrate the life of Arion, who died Feb. 4.
Arion joined the Cornell staff in 1967 and managed the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology until 1988, with a brief stint as administrator of the Division of Biological Sciences, 1974-75. She then served as executive director of the Institute of Biotechnology and Life Science Technologies and administrator for the Institute of Genomic Diversity from 1988 until her retirement in 2007.
