Memorial service for Caroline Coffey set for June 27

A campus memorial service for Caroline Coffey will be held Saturday, June 27, at 10:30 a.m. in Sage Chapel. The service is open to friends, colleagues and members of the Cornell community. It is not open to the media.

Coffey, a postdoctoral associate at Cornell, died June 2. Her husband, Cornell graduate student Blazej Kot, has been charged with her murder.

On June 4, Tommy Bruce, vice president for university communications, issued the following statement on behalf of the university:

"We are shocked and profoundly saddened by the news of this tragedy. We offer our support and condolences to friends, colleagues and family members of Caroline Coffey and Blazej Kot."
