Fly fishers federation honors Clifford Kraft

Clifford Kraft, associate professor of natural resources, was recently honored with the Federation of Fly Fishers Aldo Leopold Award "for outstanding contributions to fisheries and land ecology."

Kraft was honored at the Federation of Fly Fishers 44th Annual Fly Fishing Show and Conclave (July 28-Aug. 1) in Loveland, Colo.

Kraft has been involved with such long-term projects as climate change effects on cold-water fish and aquatic ecosystems, the effects of invasive species on fish communities and the influence of forested landscapes on lakes and rivers.

The Federation of Fly Fishers is an international membership organization dedicated to conserving, restoring and educating through fly-fishing. With more than 300 clubs around the country and affiliates in 14 countries, the federation supports fisheries conservation and educational programs for all fish and all waters where fly fishers have an interest.
