Three magazines honor Johnson School for diversity efforts

Three magazines -- Black EOE Journal, Hispanic Network Magazine and Professional Woman's Magazine -- have included the Johnson School in their 2009 "Best of the Best" annual review series of corporations that provide the best career opportunities for minorities.

The publications gathered data and performed studies in the areas of diversity employment and supplier diversity and looked at corporations by industry (financial institutions, auto makers, retailers) and education. Data sources included independent research organizations, market research reports, public information, 10-K annual reports, survey responses and interviews.
More than 900 U.S. corporations participated in the survey.

"Cornell University strives to be a 'best in class' employer in addressing diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and over the past few years we have worked aggressively in this area," said Lynette Chappell-Williams, director of Cornell's Office of Workforce Diversity, Equity and Life Quality. "We are delighted that Cornell, and the Johnson School in particular, have been recognized for these efforts, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion."
