10 at Cornell win SUNY Chancellor's Awards for Excellence

Ten staff and faculty members in Cornell's contract colleges are among 296 faculty and staff members in the State University of New York (SUNY) system who have been cited for excellence in the performance of their duties and named winners of this year's Chancellor's Awards for Excellence.

"These awards underscore SUNY's appreciation of faculty and staff who advance the boundaries of knowledge, provide the highest quality of instruction and serve SUNY and its campuses with distinction. Each of this year's recipients has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to our students and a commitment to excellence," said State University of New York Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher.

Those honored this year are:

Excellence in Librarianship:

Linda Stewart, librarian, Albert Mann Library, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS);

Excellence in Professional Service:

Anna Maria Bianchi, administrator manager, Department of Communication, CALS;

Kristine Mahoney, director of Facilities and Operations Management, College of Human Ecology (CHE);

Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities:

Brian Wansink, professor of marketing and of applied economics and management, Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, CALS;

Donald Kenkel, professor policy analysis and management, CHE;

Excellence in Teaching:

Tarleton L. Gillespie, assistant professor of communication, CALS;

Nancy H. Chau, professor of applied economics and management, Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, CALS;

Wayne S. Schwark, professor of molecular medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine;

Marianella Casasola, associate professor of human development, CHE; and

Excellence in Classified Service - State Operated Campuses
