Police urge community to take steps to thwart larcenies

Cornell University Police have observed an increase in larcenies, particularly of laptop computers and cell phones. Most of the stolen items were left unattended in unlocked rooms or public spaces. Historically, an increase in larcenies of electronics and textbook has occurred toward the end of the fall semester.

To thwart this trend this year, Cornell Police ask the Cornell community to secure valuables by closing window coverings and closing and locking windows and doors before leaving for winter break.
