Registration open for Cornell DrupalCamp 

Registration is now open for Cornell DrupalCamp 2017, to be held Oct. 20. An optional half-day Code Sprint or a full-day. Absolute Beginner’s Guide to Drupal 8 will be held Oct. 19.

Drupal is a free open-source Content Management System (CMS) written in the PHP programming language. DrupalCamps are community-sharing and training events for Drupal programmers, developers, themers, user experience specialists, project managers and content managers, with tracks for beginner, intermediate and advanced users. Cornell DrupalCamp has been held on Cornell’s Ithaca campus since 2013 and is open to the public. The day-long camp costs $35 and includes breakfast, lunch and snacks, camp badge and ticket for door prizes.Session topics and tracks will be posted in late September. Registration is open to 250 participants.

Absolute Beginner’s Guide to Drupal 8

The Absolute Beginner’s Guide to Drupal 8 will be offered Oct. 19, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The cost is $50 per person and includes a light breakfast and lunch. This class is geared toward users who are new to Drupal or need to learn Drupal 8. This hands-on class, offered by OSTraining, will prepare participants for Cornell DrupalCamp sessions the next day.

What’s covered in the course:

  • All of the key concepts you need to understand, navigate and use a Drupal site.
  • How to build a Drupal 8 site, from content and user organization, to working with modules and themes.

Attendees will also get:

  • Six months of access to OSTraining’s online Drupal training library.
  • A copy of the e-book, “Drupal 8 Explained”.

Half-day Code Sprint, Oct. 19

Also on Oct. 19, a half-day Code Sprint, from 12:30-4:30 p.m., will be held for developers who would like to gather together to write code. There is no fee to join the Code Sprint; however, registration is required. Facilitators or volunteers to help with the Code Sprint day are needed: indicate if you’d like to help out by letting us know on the& registration form.

Happy Hour, Oct. 19

A Happy Hour will be offered Thursday evening at 5 p.m. Appetizers provided; drinks are on your own. Location TBD.

All events on October 19 and 20 are open to Cornell, surrounding colleges and the public.
