‘Special edition’ of Cornell Town-Gown Awards Dec. 2

Presidents of Tompkins County’s three institutions of higher education – from left, Shirley Collado (Ithaca College), Martha Pollack (Cornell University) and Orinthia Montague (Tompkins Cortland Community College) – will all speak at the 2017 TOGOs on Saturday, Dec. 2.

The seventh annual Cornell Town-Gown Awards (TOGOs) will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Ithaca High School’s Kulp Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

This year’s TOGOs are being billed as a “special edition,” with Tompkins County’s three new higher-ed presidents – Cornell President Martha E. Pollack; Shirley M. Collado, Ithaca College; and Orinthia T. Montague, Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) – providing remarks.

Per custom, the TOGOs begin with an informal gathering and holiday food drive led by Cornell Meinig National Scholars, 9:30 to 10 a.m. Please bring canned food or other nonperishable items for the food drive.

The recognition program begins at 10 a.m. sharp, with recognition of three town-gown partnerships and retiring elected and appointed leaders.

Each campus-community TOGO winner will have an Ithaca College, Cornell and TC3 component.
