With 26 apple-based entries, the Cornell Orchards Store at 709 Dryden Road, Ithaca, will hold its inaugural Apple Bake-off Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is open to the public; raffles throughout the event and proceeds from the apple-tasting, held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will benefit the United Way of Tompkins County. Winners from the bake-off will be announced by guest judges.

The event also will include:

• Free samples of local vendor products
• Kids events: Free face painting, balloons and make-your-own caramel apples
• Cornell Orchards Store gifts on sale.
