Food and fun figure in fundraisers for Cornell United Way campaign

Chili Cook-off and Dessert Bake-off Nov. 29

The next United Way fundraiser on campus will be Facilities and Campus Services’ (FCS) Chili Cook-off and Dessert Bake-off, Nov. 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Humphreys Service Building Atrium, when staff from FCS compete for the championship. The Cornell community is welcome: The cost is $5 for chili tastings and $5 for dessert tastings. Proceeds will support the Cornell United Way campaign.

Women’s Hockey Nov. 30

Pack the rink and show support for Cornell women’s ice hockey as they face off against St. Lawrence University Nov. 30, at 6 p.m., Lynah Rink to benefit the United Way. Thanks to the William Henry Miller Inn, a dollar will be donated to the United Way of Tompkins County for every fan in attendance.

On the way in, stop at the United Way information table to spin the wheel to win fun prizes and buy a limited-edition t-shirt.

Campaign progress

As of Nov. 13, Cornell community members have raised $292,322 in gifts and pledges for the Cornell United Way campaign, reaching 39 percent of this year’s goal.
